We frequently receive support requests that the login suddenly stopped working. In this article, we summarize all possible causes of error and explain how you can help yourself – and who to contact if that doesn’t work.
iPROT address, email address, and password
From ten years of support experience, we know that the most probable cause of error is that you are logging in on the wrong page, using the wrong email address, or entering an incorrect password. You might object, “But I know this data; I use it for every login!” But is that really true? You probably bookmarked iPROT in your browser, and the browser also remembered your email address and password. That’s why the login usually works like magic.
But now you want to log in not on your company laptop, but on your tablet or another PC. The office automation fails, and after the first login attempt, you start to ponder. What is my password really? But first things first:
Login address
The login address for iPROT is always https://iprot.eu/companyname. It is crucial that you type the company name exactly as it was entered when the iPROT account was created – with correct capitalization, with or without a hyphen, etc. If you use the wrong login address, only an error message will appear instead of the login box.
Tip: Check your office laptop for the correct address. If you have an iPROT meeting minutes email in your mail directory, the correct login address can also be found at the beginning of the download link. If it is https://iprot.eu/my-company/download?id=1234, then the correct login address is https://iprot.eu/my-company. For demo accounts, the login address is https://iprot.eu/demoNNNN, where NNNN is a multi-digit number.
Email address
The correct email address is the one set in the iPROT user administration. This statement sounds trivial, but be careful: perhaps you (or your colleague) changed the email address from my.name@a-company.de to office@a-company.de? Then you must use this email address for future logins!
By the way, we do not recommend this approach. It is better to always use your “real” email address for login. If you want a different email address to be used for the meeting minutes of a project, it is better to either set a project email address (project settings, item Sending email address; this address applies to the entire project and is used as the reply address for all emails related to this project), or to use a project-specific address (settings dialog Users & Persons, dialog item Email; this address is specified within the meeting minutes instead of your own address, e.g., on the list of participants). Password
We sent your password to you by email. Perhaps you can still find this email? However, for good reason, the email contains a request to change the password immediately for security reasons. If you followed this advice, you can still look for the currently valid login password in the web browser settings of your office computer.
Should you truly have forgotten your password, we cannot retrieve it. We never store passwords in plain text. Simply ask an iPROT user within your company who has administrator rights to reset your password (see the following heading)! You will then receive an email with a new password. From now on, only this password is valid; the old password is now obsolete.
Self-help
Typically, several users within your company have administrator rights for the iPROT account. Each of these users can check in the user administration which email address is linked to your login. If necessary, all admin users can generate a new password for your login at any time!

Other causes of error
In Austria, they say: Ohne Geld ka Musi, which in High German means Ohne Geld spielt keine Musik (Without money, no music plays). In the context of iPROT, this means: If you or your company do not pay the iPROT invoice despite reminders, we will ultimately block the login. You know what to do 🙂
Another rare error: The login succeeds, but then a message appears stating that you do not have the rights to use iPROT. This message occurs if you have neither administrator rights nor write or read rights for any project within iPROT. Ask someone in your company who has admin rights to grant you sufficient rights for your work. This setting option is located in the user dialog shown above.
Support
If all else fails, we will help! Send an email to support@iprot.eu. Please include your iPROT account name in the email – and ideally, also attach a screenshot showing the address (URL) of the page where you are trying to log in.
