As of today, the new iPROT version 4.2 is online and includes new features! These include a new interface function for data exchange with other apps, such as untermStrich, an autosave function, and an improved search.
External client interface
In the project settings under PDF Design & Distribution, there is now an additional setting option exclusively for iPROT Pro customers for external access to the iPROT database by third-party software. This access is secured and uniquely identified by a so-called token. Currently, access works with the untermStrich software and allows for the importing of contact data from untermStrich and the exporting of meeting minutes as PDF files to untermStrich. Optionally, meeting minutes from all meeting types or from a selection of meeting types can be made available via the interface.
Autosave
If you do not perform any input in iPROT for 24 minutes, you will be automatically logged out for security reasons. For this eventuality, iPROT now features an integrated autosave function. This autosave function prevents text already entered in a newly created entry from being lost if it has not yet been saved. This entry is then automatically saved by iPROT and made available again at the next login. You can recognize this automatically saved entry by a corresponding color marking and—if no entry types have been defined yet—by the label “Autosave”.
Improved search function
We have simplified the setting options in the search function, which had grown over the years, and reduced them to the essentials. This makes the operation significantly clearer and more efficient, and also leads to search results more quickly.
In addition, we have implemented a new setting option for the distribution list, made improvements under the hood, and fixed a few minor bugs.
Finally, a tip: Should display problems occur with the new version 4.2, or if controls and buttons are missing, simply reload iPROT in your browser while holding down the Shift key.
