As of today, the new iPROT version 4.0 is online. With this new version, we have prepared iPROT for the coming years. At first glance, there are hardly any differences from the previous version, but much has changed both in the backend and in the frontend of the app:
- A modernized frontend with a modern JavaScript library not only provides a cleaner overall impression, but also enables faster and even smoother operation of iPROT.
- Through the use of new web technologies, less data needs to be transferred. This also contributes to an even more responsive overall iPROT experience than you were already accustomed to.
- We have carefully revised the design where necessary. In particular, we have optimized iPROT for high-resolution displays. The entire iPROT user interface is now rendered completely vector-based.
- We have also further optimized the operation of iPROT here and there. For example, the edit icons for topics are now constantly visible, making the option to customize more noticeable.
- And of course, we have also eliminated a few minor bugs.
The biggest innovation in iPROT 4.0, however, is the preparation for multilingual support in the app, which we will roll out with one of the next updates. This will make it possible to operate the entire iPROT user interface or just individual projects in English, for example. But more on that next year…
Finally, a tip: Should display issues occur with the new version 4.0, or if controls and buttons are missing, simply reload iPROT in the browser while holding down the Shift key.
