We have completed our maintenance and expansion work on the iPROT servers as announced and planned. iPROT has been fully available again since this morning (a little earlier than planned).
Simultaneously with our new, even more powerful server infrastructure, the new iPROT version 4.5 has also gone live! It brings an export function for outstanding tasks in Markdown format and iCal format (e.g., for Microsoft Outlook), as well as revised filter functions. In addition, we have made improvements under the hood and eliminated a few minor bugs again.
Export of outstanding tasks
Task management is one of the core functions in every protocol and thus also in iPROT. Previously, personalized task lists could be created using the search function and distributed as PDF files. In addition, with the new version 4.5, it is now possible to export your own outstanding tasks from all projects and meeting minutes in iPROT. This can be done either in Markdown format or iCal format. The latter can then be imported as calendar entries into Microsoft Outlook or Apple Calendar, for example. Both formats include a link to the topic in the meeting minutes, allowing quick access to a more detailed description of the task in iPROT.
The task export works exclusively for the currently logged-in user and only in one direction, i.e., out of iPROT and then, if desired, by import into another application. For example, if you move or delete an appointment exported from iPROT in Microsoft Outlook or Apple Calendar, this will not affect the data in your iPROT account.
New icon for sorting & new filter function for chapters
iPROT has always had sorting functions that allow topics and entries to be sorted either in ascending or descending order. The respective sorting order is based on the age of a topic or an entry – i.e., the date on which the topic or entry was recorded. This sorting function has now received a new icon.
And if you have activated the chapter structure in your meeting minutes, a new filter function now appears to the right of the topics column, allowing you to expand or collapse the entire chapter structure with a single click.
Finally, a tip: If display problems occur with the new version 4.5, or if controls and buttons are missing, simply reload iPROT in your browser while holding down the Shift key.
