Adding Images, PDF Files, or Other Documents

In the entry input form, the Dropbox File(s)… and Local Files… buttons allow you to add an attachment to an entry – for example, a PDF file with a cost breakdown, a drawing excerpt, or a photo from the construction site.

You can also attach files via drag and drop. Simply drag a file you want to attach to an entry into the editor window and release it. The file is then ready to be uploaded as an attachment.

Attachments are uploaded to the iPROT server when the entry is saved. Depending on your internet connection speed and the size of the file, this may take some time. Please be patient and do not click Save a second time!

NOTE
It is possible to add multiple attachments to an entry. In some browsers, you can select multiple files directly in the file selection dialog. If your browser does not support this (e.g. older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer), save the entry with the first attachment, reopen it by double-clicking, and then add the next attachment. This process can be repeated as many times as needed.

Attachments are labeled with their file name by default. If you prefer a different label, reopen the entry after saving by double-clicking it. You can then edit the label text.

Using the Dropbox File(s)… button, you can also attach files directly from your Dropbox to an entry in iPROT. The process is identical to the one described for local files. You must of course be logged in to your Dropbox account to access your files.

Attachments are displayed in the iPROT interface either as thumbnail images or as icons (for other document types). Clicking on a thumbnail or icon opens the image in a new browser window or starts the download of the document.
