Protocol ideas part 3 – Project status report & project manual with iPROT
iPROT can be used in a variety of ways. The focus is on documenting entire projects. In addition to meeting minutes for project meetings, steering committee meetings or customer meetings, iPROT can also be used to document other project content such as invoice approvals, project status, awards and audits. Reason enough for us to take a closer look at these logging ideas in a blog series. Following on from the previously published parts Plan dispatch with iPROT and Invoice verification & approval with iPROT, we are continuing the series with the documentation of the project status in the form of a project manual:
Since version 3.5, iPROT can be used to create project status reports in the form of project manuals. A separate print template is provided for this, which is slightly different and has been optimized for a project manual.

To create a project manual, you can create your own meeting type in iPROT with the name “Project manual” using the corresponding menu command. As soon as you create a new project manual in this log type as Meeting minute, iPROT automatically knows that it is a project manual and uses the corresponding print template. You can structure your project manual with topics according to the respective project requirements and divide them into chapters. Of course, you can also document the current project status, e.g. costs, deadlines, qualities and quantities, in this project manual.
The project manual can then be sent quickly and easily to the previously defined distribution list using iPROT’s integrated dispatch function. Alternatively, only the PDF version of the project manual can be downloaded via the corresponding menu command.

iPROT can be used in many different ways and goes far beyond simply recording the content of meetings. Of course, the logging ideas presented here are not exhaustive and we will therefore be presenting further options for project documentation with iPROT in the coming weeks. So: to be continued 😉
