iPROT is audit-proof
Revision security is an essential basic function of iPROT that was integrated from the outset. Audit compliance means that (digital) information is archived in a way that is traceable, retrievable, unalterable and tamper-proof. The term refers to the audit-proof archiving of information and documents that are subject to or worthy of retention. Audit-proof archiving is a central component for the compliance of information systems.
iPROT is designed in such a way that the logs created with it can be stored in an audit-proof manner. In concrete terms, this means that logs created and sent with iPROT can no longer be changed at a later date. This is an additional security mechanism that makes these protocols forgery-proof.
However, it also means that a log can only be changed until it has been sent using iPROT’s integrated send function or a new, subsequent log has been started. Even typing errors can no longer be corrected afterwards and remain in the log forever. This is sometimes inconvenient, but guarantees all recipients of a protocol that the author cannot make adjustments or changes afterwards. Necessary corrections or adjustments to content can be made in the subsequent log with an addition to the affected entry or with a new entry on the topic. This in turn is transparent and clearly visible to everyone involved.
In summary, it can therefore be stated that the audit security of the logs created and sent with iPROT
- resistant to alteration and forgery,
- transparently corrected and adjusted via the supplement function, and
- can be retrieved and archived in an audit-proof manner.
