Chapter

Each meeting topic can be assigned to a chapter. Chapters structure protocols into related sections, e.g. general, costs, deadlines, planning, and approvals/authority procedures.

In the Chapter settings dialog, you can rename existing chapters and define new chapters. iPROT distinguishes between two chapter levels. To change the order of the chapters within the log, simply drag and drop the chapter with the small arrow cross to the left of the chapter name up or down or to the left or right if you want to assign the chapter as a sub-chapter to another chapter.

You can also assign chapters on a project-by-project basis or create project-specific chapters. To do this, select the desired project from the selection box in the Chapter settings dialog. In the list that is then displayed, you can only change or add to the chapters for the selected project or delete unused chapters in the selected project.

Chapters can also be copied from an existing project. To do this, select the desired project from which the chapters are to be copied from the selection field in the top right-hand corner of the Chapters settings dialog. Click on the Apply button to copy the chapters to the project selected on the left-hand side of the dialog box. Please note that iPROT recognizes when chapter names are identical. These chapters are not adopted. This means that only those chapters that do not yet appear in the selected project are copied in order to avoid duplicates. The chapters transferred from another project are then added to the end of any existing chapter list and can be moved manually from there in the current project.

iPROT is delivered with a so-called “standard project” as standard. Several chapters have already been created in this “standard project”. The “Standard project” can of course be used as a template for other projects by adding further chapters and changing the order of these chapters as required.

NOTE
Please also note that changes to chapter names or the order of chapters have no effect on other projects. Even if these changes are made in the standard project, all other projects and their chapter structures remain unaffected.

To write reports without a chapter structure, you must consistently refrain from specifying a chapter when creating new topics. If iPROT recognizes that you are not using chapters in a log type, no chapter headings are displayed in the log.
